Honorary Trustee, Hiromi Sanada, is a professor at the Department of Gerontological Nursing/Wound Care Management, Division of Health Sciences and Nursing, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo, Japan.
Hiromi is also a president of three academic societies of wound care, Japanese Society of Pressure Ulcers, and Japanese Society of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Management, and The Society for Nursing Science and Engineering. Furthermore, she is a vice-president of Japanese Nursing Association from 2011, which is the largest professional organization for nurses consisting of approximately 650,000 nurses.
She is an editor of International Wound Journal and an editorial advisor of Journal of Wound Care. She graduated from St. Luke’s College of Nursing in 1979, and received the Enterostomal therapist certification from St. Luke’s International Hospital, E. T. School in 1987. She received her PhD from Kanazawa University in 1997. After working as a professor at Kanazawa University from 1998, she moved to The University of Tokyo as a professor of Gerontological Nursing and Wound Care Management Department.
Hiromi has published and edited many scientific articles and text books which are now being used as a gateway for researchers and clinicians in the wound care management. In respect of her many contributions to the work of the ILF, in 2015 Hiromi Sanada was granted the prestigious position as Honorary Trustee of the International Lymphoedema Framework.
